Cannabinol isolate, also known as CBN isolate, is a hemp-derived cannabinoid that comes from the cannabis sativa plant. As a weakened version of THC that is about 25% as effective as THC, CBN forms when THC degrades due to heat, air, and/or light exposure.

Although CBN is less-researched than its CBD counterpart, studies and anecdotal evidence point to it being a potentially useful aid for a variety of conditions. Some use CBN as a sleep aid, for pain relief, as an anti-inflammatory, and for muscle and joint pain. Many people report beneficial effects when using CBN in conjunction with CBD, especially for conditions such as fibromyalgia.
